It was an enjoyable read. It had great description of each character. Although we did not get the description of the man who took her from her father and kept her in his mansion attic for 15 years. Lanie was a woman who was captured when she was 5 to sell debt for her father. First of all, 20 years ago you wouldn’t believe that could actually happen. But in this day in age, yes absolutely could happen.
When Lanie was taken away from the world of being a submissive to the max, her life changed in an instant.
She was saved by a man named Roman. Who pretty much showed her the world in a week. He was semi-dominant but saw what kind of torture Lanie was living. She would shake at a noise, became startled when he tried to hold her hand. Eventually she grew accustom to being treated like a princess. Although the love scenes were nice, felt it was rushed a bit with her willing to give in so easily to him.
And the one thing Lanie wanted to know is if her father was still alive. They went to where she lived with her dad to find him. When Lanie’s dad turned out to be the complete opposite of what she remembered it can’t always end up all Peaches and Cream.
Although I liked how Roman was dominant in a caring way, still didn’t believe how you can quickly love a glorious woman of the bat. With the history of what she dealt through. I guess you can fall head over heels for someone with a lot of baggage. That seem to be the downfall for me. It was to rushed and I didn’t feel I was fully invested in each character as much as I would if of liked. It was a nice short sweet story with a HEA
